Greetings!  Welcome to Ohio Sea Grant's newest Discussion Board topic. If you're planning a trip to Lake Erie, and if you have a question about what to see or do, please post it here. Today?  Well, we've got light snow cover and beautiful blue skies. I'll look forward to hearing from you.

That depends on where you are planning to visit and what type of place you're seeking. . . a bed and breakfast? Hotel? Cottage? State Park? We've got many different options.

My recommendation is to call one of the following visitors bureaus depending on the general area you're considering for your visit.  A travel counselor will be available to help you.  Give this travel counselor as much information about the type of place you're seeking as possible.  For example, let them know if you want a hotel with all the amenities or a secluded cabin. Tell them what type of trip you're planning -- a family vacation or a romantic getaway?  Let them know if you need a handy place to clean fish, or if you prefer a fine dining experience nearby (with the fish already prepared) Grin

The more he or she knows about your expectations, the more accurate he or she can be with providing you some options.

For Toledo area, call 1-800-243-4667
For Port Clinton/Marblehead/Put-in-Bay area, call 1-800-441-1271
For Sandusky/Huron/Kelleys Island area, call 1-800-255-ERIE
For Lorain/Elyria area, call 1-800-334-1673
For Cleveland area, call 1-800-321-1001
For Painesville/Fairport Harbor/Mentor area, call 1-800-368-LAKE
For Conneaut/Geneva-on-the-Lake/Ashtabula area, call 1-800-337-6746.

I guess there are comprehensive vacation planning guide for Lake Erie travel destinations including accommodations, dining, sites and activities, tourism services, local events and some other help for travel selection. maybe just search some site for it.

You have to wonder, how many world record size muskies may be swimming in Erie?

My guess would be none.  They simply do not have a strong presence on Lake Erie.  However, this musing would seem more appropriate in a different section of the board.
