Description

This course is designed for anyone with a general interest in birds and is aimed at newcomers to birding and ornithology. We will cover the basics of field identification of the birds of northern Ohio, the biology of bird migration, and bird banding. The course will be primarily taught in the field to take advantage of the height of spring migration.

Location

This course will be based out of the Kelleys Island Field Station, providing students access to a migration hotspot as well as an active bird banding research site. Housing and travel logistics may differ than Gibraltar-based courses; instructors will inform students of housing details.
