Faculty: Your Stay at Stone Lab

Arrival

Faculty moving into Stone Lab Housing, Stone Cottage, will check in on Gibraltar Island. Please plan your arrival and departure according to the dates and times indicated on your first day schedule.

Housing Facilities

Your housing and meals are provided by Stone Laboratory.

All faculty will be staying in Stone Cottage on Gibraltar Island. The main floor of the cottage contains eight individual rooms, each with a private bath and full-size bed; a common meeting area; and a kitchen equipped with a microwave, refrigerator/freezer, and sink. A large screened-in porch with wicker furniture faces the north side of the island.

Recommended items to bring: Blanket and/or comforter, personal toiletries, bath towels, flashlight, alarm clock.

Meals

Faculty staying in Stone Cottage are provided with meals as part of their housing package.

General Information

Dress Code

The dress code at Stone Laboratory is very casual. Shorts and t-shirts are acceptable.

Keys

Keys are issued for offices and classrooms when you arrive at the lab and must be returned to the lab secretary prior to your departure. Lost keys should be reported immediately. Lost keys are subject to a replacement fee of up to $150.
