Objectives

To make camera-ready publications, public information products and management material and artwork for displays.

Rationale

The typesetting cost incurred in producing publications, public information products and management material as well as art work for displays will be greatly reduced and possibly eliminated. Paper charges incurred in printing may possibly be reduced because of the reduced space needed for desktop published text (versus computer generated). High quality pieces may be produced because of the opportunity to design without revision costs and pieces previously made camera-ready on a computer will now be done on the desktop publishing system.

Methodology

To purchase, in part, a MacIntosh Desktop Publishing System.

Benefits & Accomplishments

The system was purchased, used successfully for many years, and has been updated several times since. We are completely satisfied with the systems and Ohio Sea Grant pulications have won a number of awards--partially due to this system.
