Erin works with Ohio Sea Grant’s Outreach and Education team to present the program to a variety of constituents and participates in Lake Erie research and field work. She also assists with administrative tasks and serves as advisor for Buckeye Friends of Stone Lab (BFOSL).

Erin is a Program Assistant for Ohio Sea Grant. She works with the Outreach and Education team to promote the program and present materials about Stone Laboratory to students, legislatures, university staff and the general public. She also participates in fish sampling and other crucial research throughout the Lake Erie region.
In the Columbus office, she assists with a variety of administrative tasks for Stone Lab workshops and credit courses, manages the Ohio Sea Grant photo library, and maintains database quality control. She also serves as advisor for Buckeye Friends of Stone Lab (BFOSL), our Ohio State University student organization.
She began her career in 2012 when she was taking Stone Lab courses and working as a student employee on the island. After that summer she became a student employee in Columbus while finishing her degree, transitioning to full time after graduation. Erin holds a Bachelor’s degree of Science in Microbiology from The Ohio State University.
Erin has taken Ecology of Inland Waters, Field Ecology, Algae Identification, and Local Plants at Stone Laboratory. She is a firm believer in doing field work, lab work and species identification with a hands-on approach. She is passionate about passing her knowledge on to the next generation of environmental stewards and cleaning up our waterways.
