Stone Lab Scholarships
Each year, Stone Lab awards nearly 40 scholarships to students and educators with financial need and superior academic records. Anyone taking a for-credit course is eligible to apply for scholarships ranging from $200 to $2,500 per application. In 2015, the average scholarship for a high school student was around $600, while undergraduate students were awarded an average of about $1,200.

How Can I Apply?
Complete the online course application and indicate your interest in Stone Lab scholarships. You will be asked to upload supporting documents.
Undergraduate and graduate students:
- Cover letter
- College transcripts*
- Two letters of recommendation (from non-relatives who can speak to your academic success and work ethic) on letterhead, emailed as a PDF directly to firstname.lastname@example.org.*
*Students applying for both a scholarship and the Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Scholarship Program need only submit one set of transcripts and recommendations.
High school students:
- Cover letter
- Note: ALL high school students (whether or not they apply for a scholarship) must submit a recommendation letter attesting to the student’s academic abilities in biology or science and evaluating his or her maturity level.
Students applying for scholarships need not submit the Ohio State nondegree application, including $60 application fee, until after scholarships are announced (by the end of March).

Ottawa County Scholarships
Permanent residents of Ottawa County, Ohio — including high school students, college students and educators — are eligible to apply for this full scholarship, which is funded by a grant from the Ottawa County Community Foundation, an affiliate organization of the Toledo Community Foundation.
