The Ohio Sea Grant College Program is now accepting applications for 2015 Knauss Marine Policy Fellowships, a federal program sponsored by NOAA’s National Sea Grant College Program.
Applicants apply through the Sea Grant program in their state, or the state closest to them. See seagrant.noaa.gov/WhereWeWork/SeaGrantPrograms.aspx for locations of Sea Grant programs and contact information.
The Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship Program provides a unique educational experience to students interested in marine, ocean, and Great Lakes resources and the national policy decisions affecting them. It matches highly qualified graduate students with hosts in the legislative branch, executive branch, or appropriate organizations located in the Washington, D.C. area for a one-year paid fellowship ($45,000 for stipend and living expenses). An additional $9,000 will be used to cover mandatory health insurance costs, moving expenses, academic degree-related and fellowship-related travel; and an additional $2,500 is available for placement week costs.
For detailed information about host offerings, the selection process, and Placement Week in Washington D.C., visit the National Sea Grant Knauss website at seagrant.noaa.gov/FundingFellowships/KnaussFellowship.aspx.
Please contact Ohio Sea Grant Assistant Director Dr. Chris Winslow (winslow.33@osu.edu, 614.247.6684) for more information about the application process, and to set up a preliminary interview.
Application materials for the 2015 program are due to Ohio Sea Grant by February 14, 2014 at 5 p.m. EST.
