Ohio Sea Grant and Stone Lab join participants around the globe to set a world record for the most inflatable life jackets worn and inflated.
“Clean and Safe Boating Day” will take place on August 11 at the Aquatic Visitors Center at Put-In-Bay, Ohio, from 11 am – 2 pm, with information from the Ohio Clean Marinas Program, the ODNR Division of Parks and Watercraft, and the Lake Erie Islands Nature & Wildlife Center. The official life jacket world record event will occur at 12 p.m. The Lake Erie Islands Nature & Wildlife Center will be leading a kayak cleanup at 1 p.m.
