Stone Lab is The Ohio State University’s six-acre island campus in Put-in-Bay harbor and the oldest freshwater biological field station in the United States. Stone Laboratory is the research, education, and outreach facility of Ohio Sea Grant, which is part of National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Sea Grant, and part of the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) School of Environment and Natural Resources.

We are happy to announce that 2025 marks the 100th anniversary of Stone Laboratory at Gibraltar Island! We invite you to celebrate with us. Thank you for supporting our research, education, and outreach programs and we look forward to the next century of Lake Erie Science at The Ohio State University.
