Wandering through the Watershed Educator Workshop

July 14, 2026 – Workshop for K-12 formal, non-formal, and preservice educators

Explore the watersheds of Eastern Lake County, Ohio, in this hands‑on workshop designed for educators and youth leaders. Participants will learn the basics of forest ecology through engaging, research‑based activities while gaining practical tools they can use with students.

The workshop provides guided training and ready‑to‑use resources from Project Learning Tree and Project WET, aligned with Great Lakes Environmental Literacy principles.

You’ll also explore lessons and activities that connect local watersheds to the health of the Great Lakes. By the end of the day, you’ll leave with a clear plan for incorporating watershed‑based learning into your classroom, outdoor space, or educational program.

What’s included?
• 3 nights lodging in dorm style facilities (2 people per room)
• 3 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 1 dinner, and endless snacks
• Transport from lodging to all activity locations
• All program materials
• Take home package of lesson plans and education tools and resources
• Certificate upon completion documenting 24 contact hours earning 2 CEUs

Open to K-12 formal, non-formal, and preservice educators and you must be 18 years of age to participate.

Registration closes June 19 at 5 pm and limited to 14 participants.

No cost to attend.
