Stone Lab Open House 2014

The 17th Annual Friends of Stone Lab (FOSL) Open House on Saturday, September 6, 2014 offers visitors the chance to peek behind the scenes at Ohio State's Island Campus on Lake Erie.

Lake Erie fish should be safe to eat, scientists say
Fish caught from Lake Erie should be safe to eat despite toxic algae in the lake's Western Basin, scientists from The Ohio State University and the ODNR Division of Wildlife said.

EDUCATION

Stone Lab's Lake Erie Science Field Trips
Science Field Trips give students in grades 5-12 the chance to study Lake Erie for a day. Visits include a cruise on a research vessel, as well as lab experiences and lunch in the Dining Hall.

Harmful Algal Bloom Q&A and Updates
After the drinking water ban in Toledo was issued, Ohio Sea Grant Director Jeff Reutter offered answers to a number of frequently asked questions, both in writing and as part of a webinar.

Volunteer at Buckeye Island Hop

Spend a weekend on the Lake Erie islands at the Buckeye Island Hop, October 3 − 5, 2014! This annual event gives alumni and friends of Ohio State a chance to check out Gibraltar and South Bass islands, take part in an outdoor volunteer project, and meet new people. Registrations must be received by the Stone Lab office no later than 5:00 p.m on Friday, September 19, 2014.
